UNITED NATIONS, August 9 -- Kofi Annan and two UN agencies appeared Wednesday with rapper Jay-Z to talk about access to water. The news, such as it was, is that water is good. Inner City Press asked Shawn Jay-Z Carter two questions, about water privatization and about the Associated Press charges, unrebutted in the public record, that his clothing line Rocawear used sweatshop Southwest Textiles S.A. in

Sokari! Hi. We live in hope, I expect:-) It's a bit odd, though, that the UN should start doing this odd PR for rappers. I should hop ethat capacity-building on the issues comes in toe;-))
Jay-Z working for the greater good...I still can't quite picture it.
Jay-Z is like most of us Americans. We care but are rather uninformed. This is dangerous of course because he can be (and apparently is being) used as a tool by corporations. When I heard about his affiliation with the water advocacy but no interviews with independent media (like Flashpoints.net or DemocracyNow.org), I kinda knew this was just more corporatism. We must educate the people so that their caring is not misguided!
North Carolina, USA thanks you for your site!
